About Nancy

Hi friends!

I’m Nancy, one of the sisters behind Sister Sister Home. Recently, having gone through a pretty major remodel while living in it with my hubby and our two very energetic golden retrievers —well, It was quite the adventure, filled with excitement, triumphs, and of course, the setbacks. Nothing EVER goes as planned. Now, I want to share my journey with you, including the highs, the lows of a home renovation and how my choices were made with our two dogs in mind.

Throughout the remodel, my sister was my rock. Despite living in different states and having distinct styles, she was always there to help me brainstorm and refine my ideas and other times not agreeing at all. Her guidance though was invaluable, sometimes, just talking it through helps a lot. It soon became contagious for her and after hearing about my projects, she decided to update her own home. We then began exchanging ideas, sometimes hours at a time.

Choosing the details—from flooring to tiles, lighting to faucets—was both exhilarating and exhausting. I thought selecting a simple thing like, white paint would be the easiest decision, but I quickly learned I was wrong. The challenges were at every stage of our remodel then through choosing the right furnishings and decor. Who knew by changing one piece often shifted the entire look of a room!

We don’t live in a rural area but we aren’t near major brick and mortar stores either, online shopping became my go-to. I relied heavily on online reviews and detailed product photos to make even the largest purchases. Finding the perfect pieces at the right price often felt like a full-time job, with hours spent scouring the internet and making a few trips to stores to see items in person.

Through all the hard work and occasional setbacks, I’ve learned a lot—and I can’t wait to share my experiences and top picks with you.

Follow along with Sister Sister Home as we share more about our journey to transform our houses into warm, inviting homes. We’d love for you to join us on this adventure!
